A tailor made support service for vulnerable/at risk full time students who are aged 19 and below

We take referrals from:
- Safeguarding
- Self
- Welfare Team
- Children's Services
- Tutors
- Counselling
- Specialist Education Providers
- Parents
- Learning Support
How Targeted Support will help
- Members of the team are all Safeguarding and Common Assessment Framework (CAF) trained
- Provide links to other services
- Work closely with partner agencies
- Keep regular contact with students
- Aid retention and attendance
- Aid social well being
- Sort out problems
Examples of support
- Attend CAF meetings
- Attend Looked After Review meetings
- Mediation between student & parent, parent & tutor or even tutor & student
- Help to make phone calls and give access to the phone to arrange important meetings
- Lunch vouchers
- Food parcels
- Encouragement to quit smoking, access Time 4U and sporting opportunities
- Cards sent for birthdays, new home, good luck for exams and new baby
- Reminder text messages for appointments, meetings, timetables etc
- Represent student at disciplinary
Specialist Education Providers
Early identification of the student can really help before they start college, they can be supported right from the start of term. Introductions can be made to the department, the student can be shown around and welfare services can be introduced.
