Student Advice Guidance and Support
The SAGS Team is your first point of contact if you need help or advice about any aspect of college life. We are easily recognisable as we all wear a uniform, and you will find us as soon as you enter college, on either campus, in Reception, the Advice Centre and the Student Lounge.

We provide a range of services and facilities to ensure that you are supported while you are a student at NEW College, and to help if you need advice about the college or our courses before you start. For more information about any of the services below, just click on the title.
Our Advice Assistants are able to provide general information regarding the range of courses offered by NEW College and learning opportunities offered within the community.
Whether your desire is to undertake a recreational, vocational, academic or professional course, our friendly Advice Assistants can offer information regarding availability, course duration, fee details etc.

Advice and Guidance
If you are aged 19 or over and need help and advice about what course to do, or about careers, we have specialist advisors who can talk to you about your options on a one to one basis, whether you decide to study here or elsewhere. Just drop in to the Advice Centre to make an appointment, or phone 01527 572688. NEW College Careers
Our career adviser and Connexions personal advisers work together to provide a free information, advice and guidance service for NEW College students aged 19 or under (Up to 24 for those with special needs). Pre-entry impartial advice and guidance is delivered by Connexions.
Students are able to access in depth, tailored advice through one to one appointments with a qualified careers advisor. Advice is also given via a range of group sessions booked through their course tutors. Our advisers adhere to the Institute of Careers Guidance (ICG) Code of Ethical Principles.

The Student Lounge is a place where you can go to relax, away from your lessons. You can eat your own food, watch tv, play pool and sit in comfort and talk to your mates. Itís also a place where you can access information about almost anything, from welfare and health issues to taxi numbers.
If you have any personal problems during your time at college, you can talk in confidence to a counsellor. The counsellor will not judge you but will listen to what you have to say and can support you and help you to work through your feelings. You can use the counselling for a one off visit or you may want to arrange a number of sessions. To make an appointment, contact reception. You can also ask any member of staff in the Advice Centre or Student Lounge, or talk to your tutor.
Throughout the year the welfare team work tirelessly to enhance your time here at college. The year starts off with a bang with a Freshers' Fair to introduce our new students to college life.
The fun continues with trips, Healthy Living Fairs, quizzes and charity fundraising such as cancer awareness, children in need, no smoking day and comic relief.
Here at NEW College we offer a vast array of opportunities surrounding sport. We look at sport in its widest context and offer opportunities in everything from Basketball to Yoga, Football to Go Karting and everything in between. It is our aim to offer every student the chance to participate in sport regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, ability or disability. We offer varied levels of competition within college varying from Intra competitions against fellow students all the way up to national league and international competitions. The sports provision is to make your time here at NEW college as fun as possible and it gives you the chance to try new things in a safe environment.
Once you have chosen your course you may be concerned about how you will afford to be a student. Your concerns may include benefits, course costs, living costs, equipment, travel or childcare costs. Speak to us; we may be able to help, as the college has access to various sources of support for students. For help call into the Advice Centre or the Student Lounge. If you would like a confidential chat with a specialist advisor we can book this for you.
A tailor made support service for vulnerable/at risk full time students who are aged 19 and below.
Our nursery is situated at the Bromsgrove campus and provides high standards of safety and care for your children.
