Staff Awards
(July 2010)
North East Worcestershire College's fourth annual Staff Awards took place on Friday 9th July at the College's Redditch campus, celebrating the outstanding achievements of its staff.
The Awards recognise the hard work the staff has put in to contributing to the College over the past academic year, with nominations being made by colleagues, employers and students.
The ceremony showcased some of finest talents within the College from staff and students alike, with vocal performances from Performing Arts student Lucy Walker and tutor Phillip Pywell, a musical rendition from tutors Sean McCreavy and Robbie Tabrett along with as 'NEW College's got talent' winners performing their tongue-in-cheek dance routine. After the presentations an open-air buffet was provided for all involved.
During the Awards tutor Liam McGrath took the opportunity to rally further support for the charity 'Get Kids Going' that saw him run the London Marathon earlier this year to raise money. Staff donated generously, raising over £100, to add to the £3000 already raised.
Principal John Callaghan praised the staff for efforts in staging such a successful appraisal of the work that has been achieved over the past year, 'Having been at the College for some three months, it is clear to see what hard-working and dedicated team we have here at NEW College and I am proud to be able to lead us on to further successes in the future.'
