Course Description
This award is for learners new to volunteering or working as an assistant with young children in an early years setting.
or
This award is for learners with experience of working with children in an early years setting with a range of responsibilities.
Depending on the level completing.
The courses will cover core units of the National Occupational Standards in Early Years Care and Education, covering such topics as Child Development, Behaviour Management, Child Protection, Health ans Safety, the Childs Environment, Suitability of Equipment, and Craft and Creative Activities. Candidates will then choose the remaining units in order to achieve a full NVQ.
The main aim is to enhance your skills, knowledge and competence to work effectively with children in the 0 to 8 years group.
How is the Qualification Achieved ?
Candidates will be assessed on their practical competence throughout the programme, and college assignments will be undertaken to be assembled into a portfolio of evidence.
On Successful Completion of this Course
Completion of level 2 may allow progression to level 3. Completion of level 3 will allow progression to BTEC HND in Advanced Practice in Work with Children and Families, or Foundation Degree in Early Years.
