Entry Requirements

•Level 3 Diploma in Beauty, Holistic or Complementary Therapies
•GCE A Levels or equivalent (Access to Nursing) (Learners who do not have the above Level 3 qualification or an Anatomy and Physiology qualification will be expected to undertake an intensive course which will bridge the gap, subject to a successful interview)
•Learner’s whose first language is not English should normally be able to demonstrate proficiency to a minimum level of 6.0 IELTS
•Admissions are invited through UCAS

We particularly welcome applications from those who do not have traditional entry requirements but are over 21, and you may be able to obtain credits based on your experience. You are encouraged to talk about this with the course manager who will be happy to discuss this informally with you.

2 Years. (2.5 days per week) plus 1 day per week placement or employment within a Spa/Salon setting.

Course Description

A Foundation Degree is a Higher Education qualification equivalent to the first two years of a BA (Hons) degree programme. Foundation degrees are linked to the workplace and students will be able to gain skills to apply to their work and vice versa in addition to the theoretical knowledge.

This foundation degree will enable you to explore various advanced technologies in the Beauty and Spa Industry where you will gain hands on practice of some of these therapies; it will also introduce you Leadership and management concepts. On successful completion of the course you will have developed the necessary skills and management techniques to start your career in the Beauty or Spa industry.

How is the Qualification Achieved ?

Assessments are mainly by written assignments including:- Reports, Essays, Case studies, presentations and other written and practical approaches.

On Successful Completion of this Course

Completion of the Foundation Degree in Beauty and Spa Management provides a undergraduate qualification of 240 credits. It allows progression to the final year of the BA(Hons) in Leadership and Management at the University of Worcester. Which can be studied Full or Part time.
