The BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Sport & Active Leisure gives you an opportunity to develop personal skills and attributes in order to improve your confidence in your ability to work, learn and achieve your full potential. To join the course you will need to attend a College interview.

Course Description
This course is designed to give you the chance to follow a vocational programme and gain essential skills of Communication, Application of Number and Information Technology.
The course comprises of:
• 4 Core units
• 3 Specialist units
• Qualifications in adult literacy and numeracy
• Personal and group tutorial provision
You will be taught in friendly groups with workshops and discussions making up a large part of your course. These enable you to build up your confidence, to take responsibility for your own learning and to progress your skills at your own pace. Most of the coursework will be done in class so any additional home study will be kept to a minimum.
How is the Qualification Achieved ?
During the year you will build a portfolio of evidence which will be assessed internally as you complete each unit and externally by an Edexcel assessor at the end of the year. Pass, Merit and Distinction grades are attainable.
On Successful Completion of this Course
You will be eligible to do the Edexel BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Sports.
