Course Description
Continuous assessment throughout the course by practical, oral and written tests, projects and assignments, and the collection of evidence in a portfolio. Regular attendance is essential in order to complete the qualification. It includes health and safety, consulting with clients, basic barbering cutting techniques, shampooing and conditioning, cutting facial hair, promoting additional services, changing hair colour and team work.
How is the Qualification Achieved ?
This is a full time men’s hairdressing course which provides students with essential basic technical skills, communication, numeracy and IT skills which will give access to a variety of career options.
Mandatory Units:
Health and safety, consulting with clients, basic barbering cutting techniques, shampooing and conditioning, cutting facial hair, promoting additional services, changing hair colour and team work.
On Successful Completion of this Course
A wide range of jobs are available within men’s hairdressing including: salon work which could include working for larger men’s hairdressing companies, working on ships, sales or technical representation, department stores; or further study to NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Barbering.
